A YEAR 9 student of a prominent high school in Lautoka was allegedly beaten last Saturday by a senior boy in the hostel.
Speaking to this newspaper, his mother, Melaia Adimate claimed her son was a victim of bullying by a boarder.
Ms Adimate said the 14-year-old suffered injuries which required medical attention.
“We took him to the hospital on Saturday, and we are back here at the hospital today (Monday) for review,” she said.
Ms Adimate said her son was also bullied by the border last month and was suspended for three weeks.
She claimed that her son was marked by the boarder for not giving his snacks to him.
“I have lodged a report at the Lautoka Police, and they will be in school to address this issue.”
Questions sent to police and Education Minister Aseri Radrodro remain unanswered.
