FRA monitors road situation

Update: 6:31PM A NUMBER of roads still remain closed in the Western, Central and Northern divisions attributed to the effects of Tropical Cyclone Josie.

The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that 21 roads remain closed in the Western Division, nine roads in the Northern Division and six roads in the Central Division.

FRA is advising motorists to drive to the conditions, slow down, and be aware of debris on the roads.

Flood affected areas may have changed the road surface in some places and motorists must expect an increase in the number of potholes.

The FRA is closely monitoring the situation of the roads and “we are urging (members of) the public to remain vigilant, tune into the local radio and listen to the advice of the emergency services”.
