UNITY Fiji party says its prime objective is to narrow the widening gap between the poor and the rich in the country. And in doing so, party leader Savenaca Narube said no Fijian would be left behind. Mr Narube made the comment after visiting the tenants of the HART homes in Navakai, Nadi last week.

“I understand that most of the HART tenants are women who do not work,” he said.

“One of the prime objectives of Unity Fiji is to narrow the widening gap between the poor and the rich.

“We know that times are very hard. We have the experience and the training in economic and financial management to design a package that will create more jobs and provide incomes to all people.”

Responding to the tenants’ concerns that they had not received any flood relief assistance, Mr Narube claimed that the party would look after everyone irrespective of their political choice.

“Above everything else, I promise you that a Unity Fiji government will be fair to everyone,” Mr Narube claimed. In accepting the food and clothes gifts on behalf of the tenants, the head of the tenants’ organisation thanked Unity Fiji for remembering them.

“I thought that you came only to speak to us about the elections, but I did not expect you to remember us with these very kind donations,” the head of the tenants’ organisation said.
