IN three days, Rewa refused to let go of the IDC trophy, Ba overcame interesting opposition, Navua turned the tables and Labasa dug their way out of an early exit to emerge as Super Premier Division semi-finalists of the 2026 FMF Inter-District Championship today.
And with a patriotic spirit gripping the nation for Fiji Day, football mania also descends onto the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva for a day of football not to be missed.
Super Premier Division
Rewa qualified for the semi-finals on Wednesday after scoring a total of eight goals in their first two pool matches, Ba secured their spot with resounding wins over Nadi and Lautoka and a two-all scare by Navua.
Labasa earned theirs after bouncing back from a 3-0 defeat by Rewa on Wednesday and Navua aim to finish strongly after an early exit in the 2026 Extra Battle of the Giants last month in Ba.
Premier Division
Kiribati competes at this year’s IDC with the aim of achieving affiliation with the Oceania Football Confederation and FIFA according to Fiji FA CEO Mohammed Yusuf, but they will also return home roaring after an impressive pool performance earlier this week; a 6-0 thrashing of Nadroga after being defeated by Seaqaqa 2-4 in their campaign opener.
They meet the Fiji under-17 side at 11.30am in the second Premier Division semi-final at Buckhurst Park, while Seaqaqa and Tavua meet in the first semi-final at 11am inside the stadium.
Senior Division
It’s going to be a Vanua Levu final in this division since Dreketi, Bua, Nadogo and Taveuni finished in the top spots of their pools to book semi-final spots on Thursday this week.
Dreketi meets Taveuni in the first semi-final at 9am at the stadium while Nadogo meets Bua at the same time at Buckhurst Park.
Only time will tell
Fighting for Fiji football’s grandest prize this year means jumping over hurdles no one will ever know, seeking the best players to do the job and in a tournament reporting 13 failed drug tests on Thursday.
And when the four Super Premier semi-finalists take to the field today, they will fight not just for the coveted IDC trophy, but the chance to say thank you to everyone who believed in them if they lose today or when they lift the coveted trophy tomorrow.
Super Premier Division semi-finals: Rewa v Navua at 2.30pm, Ba v Labasa at 5pm. Both matches at the HFC Bank Stadium.
