The Fiji Pine Ba U20s overcame a sluggish start to defeat Kadavu 36-14 last week and head to Round 11 with a good chance of finishing the table in third place.
The players were late to the ground after their bus had a puncture, arriving just 20 minutes before the kick-off.
“That’s a lesson for us,” BRU Secretary Gaby Kautoga said. “We have to allow for these unexpected incidents and adjust our schedules to be earlier.”
Kadavu led 14-12 at the break, but Ba got into their stride in the second half to run in four more tries with centre Viliame Gaunavinaka grabbing two more to his season’s tally.
A win today over Lautoka would see the Ba Juniors probably face either Tailevu or Taveuni in the quarter-finals.
