THE Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau didn’t allow Members of Parliament to have their usual tea breaks this morning as Members of Parliament converged to deliberate on the 2019-2020 national budget.

The morning tea breaks for the MPs are scheduled for 11.30am.

However, Leader of Opposition Sitiveni Rabuka concluded his response to the national budget at 11.59am.

Due to the line of MPs that are yet to deliver their responses, Ratu Epeli suspended morning tea break to allow Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimama to deliver his response to the national budget.

He then informed MPs that there would be no morning tea for today.

“You will have morning tea and lunch at the same time,” Ratu Epeli said.

“Like I told you , you can have the freedom to go out when you need to but I have to sit here and listen to everything.”

Opposition MP , Mitieli Bulanauca is expected to deliver his response to the budget in the next hour.
