Update: 11:51AM MORE than 10 volunteers are gearing up for the Walk On Walk Strong (WOWS) Save It or Shave It campaign tomorrow.
WOWS acting team leader Makrava Wilson said the volunteers would shave their hair off as the campaign comes to an end after months of fundraising and awareness activities.
“This campaign started in 2011 with the sole aim of raising funds to help children with cancer and now five years later, it has gained a lot of momentum,”Mr Wilson said.
“Those who will shave their hair off have also pledged an amount of money that they also hope to raise and donate to WOWS to support children in Fiji that are suffering from cancer.”
Damodar Group of Companies CEO Div Damodar was the face of this year’s campaign and said the last four months spent on raising awareness and funds for the foundation was a positive investment for him and the company as a whole.
The shave-off will be held at the Damodar City Centre in Suva from 12-2pm this Saturday.
