Fiji’s estimated total exports of services in the December quarter of 2019 was $904.6million, the Fiji Islands Bureau of Statistics has revealed in its International Trade in Services statistics issued last week.
This, it reported represented a decrease of $8.2million (0.9 per cent).
It also noted the estimated total imports of services in the same quarter, to the amount of $517.2million, which recorded an increase of $82.2m (18.9 per cent) over the last year.
In its trade in services report, the Bureau also reported a surplus of $387.4m that was recorded in the same quarter, but it was $90.4m (18.9 per cent) less than the surplus of $477.8m recorded a year earlier.
The Bureau also reported that services recording surplus for the 2019 December quarter included travel ($433m); government ($51.8m); transportation services (12.8m); and manufacturing services ($3.3m).
