THE stage is set for the 2026 Fiji Golf Classic, which will be held from July 30 to August 1 at the picturesque Denarau Golf and Racquet Club.
Organised by the Fiji Professional Golfers Association (PGA), the tournament is expected to attract some of the country’s top golfers and overseas participants, promising three days of exciting competition on one of Fiji’s premier golf courses.
Tournament organisers have also released the rules and conditions for the event, confirming that in the event of a tie after three rounds, the champion will be decided through a three-hole playoff on the 18th, 10th and 18th holes. If players remain tied after the playoff, sudden-death play will continue on the 18th hole until a winner is determined.
Players have also been reminded of local rules regarding out-of-bounds areas, penalty areas and relief for abnormal course conditions, including artificially surfaced roads, irrigation works and construction areas.
The Fiji Golf Classic continues to grow in stature and is expected to provide a major boost for golf in the country, while also promoting sports tourism with Denarau once again serving as a world-class host venue.
Golf enthusiasts and supporters are expected to turn out in numbers to witness some of Fiji’s finest golfers battle for top honours in what promises to be a thrilling tournament.
