AS the countdown begins to one of Fiji’s most anticipated fashion events, Style Fiji is preparing to mark a significant milestone: 15 years of bringing together fashion, creativity and community for a greater purpose.
Style Fiji 2026 will take place on Saturday, November 7 at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, Denarau, bringing together some of Fiji’s leading designers for an evening that celebrates the creativity and diversity of Fiji’s fashion industry. This year’s theme, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” will set the scene for an evening of fashion, entertainment and storytelling, while continuing the event’s long standing commitment to supporting causes within the Fijian community.
For Style Fiji committee member and fashion designer Samson Lee, reaching 15 years is an opportunity to reflect on how far the event has come.
“Style Fiji has always been about bringing people together through fashion, while also giving something meaningful back to our community,” Lee said.
“Fifteen years later, that purpose remains at the heart of what we do. The event has grown and evolved, but it has always been about more than putting beautiful clothes on a runway.”
Over the years, Style Fiji has provided a platform for Fijian designers, models, artists, creatives and businesses, while using the event to raise awareness and support for community initiatives. For its 15th anniversary, Style Fiji will again support the Fiji Mobility Alliance, alongside a second charity partner working in Fiji’s HIV response, to be announced shortly.
“Fashion gives us a platform and a voice, and we believe that platform should also be used to highlight the people and organisations doing important work in Fiji,” Lee said.
“This year, we wanted our support to reach different parts of our community. Whether it is mobility and accessibility or HIV awareness, these are important conversations, and we are proud to use Style Fiji to help bring greater attention to them.”
Details of the runway and entertainment are being kept under wraps for now, but organisers say guests can expect the 15th anniversary to celebrate both Style Fiji’s history and the direction in which Fiji’s fashion industry is heading.
“We want people to walk into Style Fiji this year and feel that they are part of something special,” Lee said.
“It’s our 15th year, so naturally we want to celebrate, but we also want to acknowledge everyone who has been part of this journey: our designers, models, sponsors, volunteers, beneficiaries, and especially the people who have continued to support Style Fiji year after year.”
With just over eight weeks remaining, preparations are gathering momentum as designers work on their collections and the Style Fiji team begins revealing more about this year’s show.
“Fifteen years is something we are incredibly grateful for. Style Fiji has never been the work of just one person. It has survived and grown because people continue to believe in what it represents,” Lee said.
“As we begin the countdown to November, we’re excited to share more of the stories behind this year’s event and the people who make Style Fiji possible.”
