Dear FEA workmen, thank you for going house to house every day checking the electrical meter boxes so diligently.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but are you allowed to enter a compound without the knowledge of the homeowner? If so, stop reading.
If not, then please ensure you tap on the gate and wait until someone escorts you in to avoid what happened at my house yesterday (November 4 at 11.15am).
After just one tap on the gate, the workman entered the compound and went to check the meter box.
Feeling slightly peeved at this stranger entering my compound without consent, I went outside to meet him and ask him not to repeat this behaviour should he visit my home again.
Thankfully (for him) I did that because had I not, he would be nursing dog bites from my five dogs.
Also, we might’ve even copped the blame for his injuries even though he was the one who entered the compound without us knowing.
I understand that you have many houses to visit and want to get your job done quickly so waiting to be invited into the compound can seem like a tedious task but for your safety and all homeowners’ sanity, please don’t repeat this behaviour.
Hopefully this doesn’t happen again.
