The Permanent Secretary for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations, Maritino Nemani stated the Coalition government supports the family accompaniment program under the PALM scheme “”as one of the solutions to family separation issues.””
He made the comments while speaking to 30 families in the Western Division who will be joining their loved ones under the PALM scheme through the Family Accompaniment Pilot Program.
“This initiative by the Australian government is a vital response to addressing the challenges of prolonged family separation,” he said.
“As you are ready to leave our shores, prepare yourselves to adapt to the new living environment that awaits you.”
“Australia is a developed nation, and its surroundings differ significantly from Fiji,” he added.
Mr Nemani thanked the Australian government for this initiative.
“We look forward to the successful transition of these families and appreciate the ongoing support from both governments in this important undertaking.”
