AWARD winning fashion designer Robert Kennedy has teamed up with Prouds to promote his fashion label RKFJ in two of their flagship stores with plans to expand the brand into other outlets in future.
A press release from Prouds yesterday said the range featured at Prouds Suva Central and Prouds Downtown Nadi also carried the new collection named “TUBU” which translates — to grow, increase, spring up and rise in Fijian.
“It couldn’t be a more apt description as my label is reinvigorated with this new partnership,” Kennedy said.
“I am very encouraged with the confidence shown by the team at Prouds for my ‘RKFJ’ collection and look forward to extending the popular brand across the country,” Kennedy said.
“The partnership with Prouds which is Fiji’s premium retailer will ensure my lifestyle brand reaches out to my extremely loyal local customers and tourists alike.
“When customers make purchase of any items under the RKFJ collection, they are buying a brand that reflects our Pacific lifestyle.
“The flora and fauna of our islands are very unique and that often inspires my prints. We also love the colours of the Pacific and use a lot of vivid tropical colours in our designs.
“My fashion is also very suitable for living in the tropics with relaxed styles and cool natural fibre fabrics.”

Prouds category leader — fashion, Rohinesh Prakash said customers could expect to see and enjoy the whole line of women’s and men’s fashion, jewellery, homeware and giftware from the popular RKFJ collection.
“The TUBU collection is unique with its tropical print colours and designs which is strongly inspired by Fiji’s wildlife with prints prominently featuring turtles, fish, seasnakes, iguanas, parrots and herons and much more,” Mr Prakash said.
Robert Kennedy Designs Fiji was founded in 2002 and claims to bring a fresh take on fashion, textiles, interiors, art, homewares and accessories inspired by the beautiful tropical islands of Fiji.
Based on Fiji’s beautiful coral coast in Sigatoka – Robert Kennedy rose to fame after winning the “Established Designer of the Year Award” and the “Resort Wear Designer of the Year Award” at Fiji Fashion Week in 2011 and has since won numerous other accolades over the years.
He has also shown his collections internationally at various international fashion weeks, festivals and events.
