Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho says the lockdowns and curfews implemented by Government were not ordinary measures.

He said as arrests continued to be made, Fijians needed to play their part in dealing with these measures.

“The cyclone will come and we will ride it out and pass, but COVID-19 will remain with us,” COMPOL said.

“And there are still people that are breaking the curfew and still getting into this little get togethers’. They are doing and we are still arresting.

“People must understand that we are dealing with the virus and a life and death situation if we look at the global trends that are happening.

“It is no ordinary curfew or no ordinary lockdown.”
