THE Westpac Bank is in the process of finalising its enhanced assistance package, adjusting it to incorporate the measures announced by Government.
A spokesperson from the bank yesterday said the bank would share the information with customers shortly.
In response to questions on whether customers will have access to Westpac’s hardship assistance packages, the bank stated that since mid-February they had offered support to help businesses so they could continue to trade and pay employees.
According to the spokesperson the Westpac Bank had also supported consumers suffering mortgage stress or needing extra support on a case-by-case basis, under its usual process.
Meanwhile as announced by the Fiji Government, all banks will now:
- Waive charges on minimum balances in customer’s accounts;
- remove the minimum purchasing requirement for electronic transaction; and
- offer loan repayment deferment, on a case by case basis.
Westpac customers affected by COVID-19 and in need of support can contact:
