A 32-year-old man found guilty of digitally raping a three-year child in April 2019 at Vatuwaqa, Suva, will be sentenced by the High Court in Suva on Thursday.

The accused appeared before judge Justice Daniel Goundar today.

He was charged with two counts of digital rape and was convicted by the court last week following the unanimous guilty opinions of three assessors.

In court today, the State filed its sentencing submissions and informed the court that the victim impact statement was also included in the submissions detailing the trauma the victim had faced after the incident.
