The High Court in Suva is scheduled to issue a ruling tomorrow regarding an injunction application filed by the former president of the Kadavu Soqosoqo Vakamarama sub-Suva branch, aimed at preventing its executives from accessing trust accounts.

In this civil lawsuit, former president Unaisi Cabenatabua is taking legal action against 13 defendants over her unlawful dismissal and the previous executives of the KSSV’s failure to transfer roles and responsibilities to the newly-appointed committees.

Ms Cabenatabua said that after she was elected president of the KSSV sub-Suva branch in July, she and the newly-formed executive committee were denied access to several resources, including the refusal from the third to the ninth defendants to acknowledge her as the new president, among other issues.

The defence lawyers are objecting to the plaintiff’s injunction application to disallow access to the bank accounts, which KSSV relies heavily on to help them fund their fundraisers.

Justice Dane Tuiqereqere informed both parties a decision would be issued on September 12.
