A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed today between the Suva City and the Nasinu Town Councils.

The agreement will enable Nasinu residents, businesses and informal settlements to access regular and efficient waste collection service.

During the signing, Minister for Local Government,Housing and Community Development Premila Kumar said the Government would be investing $1.6 million towards this essential service.

“This agreement has come about because of poor waste collection service provided by the Nasinu Town Council,” she said.

“This was the best option to engage Suva City Council which has been providing very efficient waste collection services.”
