Company staff to be reduced

Fiji Airports (Pte) Ltd has informed staff members that employee numbers will need to be reduced. A circular by company chairman Geoffrey Shaw stated while the company would seek to maintain employment of workers, each department would be progressively affected.

He said there would be “generous” severance packages that were above the company’s legal obligation.

“It remains our fervent hope that international air travel will resume within the first quarter of 2021,” he said.

Company communications and public relations manager Christopher Chand said yesterday their priority was and remained to ensure the long-term viability of Fiji Airports.
