The Bank South Pacific (BSP) handed over a water tank and three handwashing stations to the Pacific Harbour Police Post last week.

According to relieving BSP general manager retail, Kamini Mani, community projects formed an integral part of the bank’s journey of growth in Fiji.

“For their 2020 community project, our Pacific Harbour branch chose to provide a water tank and three handwashing stations at their local police post,” she said.

“In all our projects, staffs are required to contribute sweat equity by clocking volunteer hours and I am proud that our Pacific Harbour branch staff did the same here.”

Ms Mani said BSP funded the handwashing station as a way of supporting the Global Handwashing Day which was observed last month.

“This BSP funded handwashing station is our way of supporting this great effort and we congratulate the ongoing efforts by Government agencies and partner organisations.

“We trust that the facilities will be well utilised by the officers as well as all those visiting the police post to keep away the infectious diseases.

“I also recognise the close working relationship we and other businesses have with the local officers,” she said.

Divisional Police Commander Southern ASP Vilimoni Komairasea had also acknowledged the support of the bank over the years and commended the bank for this initiative.

“We salute BSP for this initiative to support the Government of Fiji in resourcing our police posts.

You have stepped up to remind us that the Fiji police is not alone in the fight against crime,” he said.
