Vodafone Fiji will be helping businesses take advantage of the benefits of Oracle cloud computing across Fiji and the Pacific.
According to a statement from the company, it was a member of the Oracle Partner Network (OPN) and among the Oracle solutions it helped to deliver was the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
This was a next generation cloud built for enterprises seeking higher performance, lower costs and easier cloud migration for their existing on-premises applications or cloud native workloads.
Vodafone Fiji chief commercial officer Ronald Prasad said it was important for businesses to revisit their strategies and prudent to re-align key investment decisions, especially in terms of cloud readiness.
“Cloud is mature technology now and provides tonnes of benefits such as improved performance, best in class security, reduced cost, greater flexibility and on-demand scalability, which form the foundation of an agile and innovative business,” he said.
JAPAC Oracle Digital Cloud vice president Maria Dzhanan said they had been working with Vodafone Fiji for a number of years.
“It is great to see Vodafone Fiji now helping customers in Fiji to embrace the benefits of Oracle cloud computing to innovate and transform their businesses,”
she said.
Jack’s of Fiji was a customer who had already moved critical workloads to the Oracle cloud.
Jack’s Group of Companies IT Manager Shalesh Rai said Vodafone provided an integrated cloud solution to help position their business to prepare for the next phase of growth and meet their evolving business needs.
“We’ve transformed our network and moved our critical workloads to the Oracle Cloud, realising immediate savings, enhanced security and performance.
“Vodafone fronted the project and conducted several meetings and numerous whiteboard sessions, thoroughly understanding our requirements and helping design and implement the right-fit solution.”
Vodafone stated for many businesses, the cloud OPEX model brought financial flexibility and reduced capital expenditure associated with running, maintaining and replacing traditional solutions.
Another key advantage was user mobility, providing users access to business applications from anywhere, improving efficiency and enabling new ways of working.
Jack’s Group of Companies general manager Avinesh Prasad said they were delighted with the complete and integrated approach taken by Vodafone to deliver this critical project.
