HUNDREDS of members of the New Methodist Christian Fellowship marched through Suva yesterday in what church leaders described as a “march of declaration.”
The march began at the Suva Flea Market and ended at the Vodafone Arena in Laucala Bay, where the church is holding its Global Conference.
During his morning sermon, General Superintendent Reverend Atunaisa Vulaono said the march was a declaration of faith as members gathered for the annual conference.
Senior pastor Ophia Sansara Sanday said the conference also coincided with the church’s 24th anniversary.
She said it included different sessions for various groups within the church, including families, youths and other demographics.
“We just want to advocate that Jesus is the answer,” she said.
Ms Sanday said the event was aimed at encouraging people to strengthen their faith and find hope during difficult times.
The conference ends today.
