DEFENDING champions Extra Supermarket Labasa FC are fully aware of the battle that awaits them when they take on RC Manubhai Ba FC in the first semi-final of the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship today at 2pm at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba.
Labasa senior player Christopher Wasasala said the team knows what is at stake as they aim to defend their title.
“It will be a good semi-final for Labasa. It will not be an easy match, and it’s not easy to defend the title but the boys know their task ahead,” Wasasala said.
Meanwhile, Ba coach Joshua Wilson said his side expects a tough encounter against the reigning champions.
“In our final match against Rewa on Thursday, we knew it would be tough and a good game. There was a lack of concentration for us in the second half.
“Labasa is a good team; they are defending champions. We’ve qualified for the semi-finals and look forward to the challenge,” Wilson said.
Wilson added that Ba will focus on tightening their structure, particularly in the midfield, to stop Labasa’s attacking plays.
Labasa topped Group A, while Ba qualified second from Group B, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense northern-western clash.
In today’s Super Premier semi-final fixtures, Labasa meets Ba at 2pm, followed by Rewa taking on Suva at 4:30pm.
