VICTIMS of bullying have been encouraged to call Lifeline Fiji. Lifeline Fiji board chairwoman Tiri Naulivou said it was important for children to know they could call 132454 for help.

She also stressed that schools should not be silent about bullying and should seek support for their students should they need it.

“If you’re experiencing bullying you should not be ashamed to seek help. Young children in schools need to now that there is support available,” she said.

Ms Naulivou said their crisis support line was open to anyone who needed help.

“We’re also able to do referrals for children who need help over the phone.

“There is Medical Services Pacific that has a child helpline (1325) they can call as well so support is available.

“We would like to encourage teachers and school administrators to keep an eye out for situations where a child may be experiencing bullying and to not take it lightly.”
