THE Pacific Centre for Aviation Studies in Nadi is set to introduce a range of specialised short courses designed to further strengthen aviation training and professional development within Fiji and the Pacific region.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka revealed this during the launch of the Pacific Centre for Aviation Studies at the FNU Namaka campus in Nadi on Friday.

“Apart from the Aircraft Maintenance License Program in place, the new and upcoming short courses will include Human Factors, Safety Management Systems, Aviation Legislation, Aviation Lead Auditor, and Quality Assurance,” Mr Gavoka said.

“Such initiatives demonstrate the centre’s commitment to meeting evolving industry demands while enhancing the professional capabilities of those working within the aviation sector.”

He said future students would have the opportunity to pioneer a new generation of programs.

“Including the Diploma in Flight Simulation and Performance Engineering, Certificates Levels 3, 4, and 5 in Aviation Business Management, as well as the Diploma in Aviation Business Management.

“With the evolution of the Pacific Centre for Aviation Studies, there is a strong vision and commitment to actively contribute to the advancement of the Pacific region’s aviation industry by positioning the centre as a premier aviation training institution.

“This will be achieved through the introduction of dedicated regional scholarships, the adoption of international aviation standards, the provision of cost-effective regional training opportunities, the strengthening of high-level industry partnerships, and expansion into advanced technologies that will shape the future of aviation across the Pacific.”

Mr Gavoka acknowledged the Government’s continued support, including the invaluable contributions from aviation industry partners and the dedicated FNU team who had worked tirelessly to bring this vision to fruition.
