THE undefeated Nationwide Nadi Army team stamped its authority on the international stage after clinching the 2026 Borneo 7s title at the Eagles Rugby Club Stadium in Malaysia over the weekend.

The side delivered a commanding performance in the Cup final, thrashing the Kazakhstan 7s team 36-5 to cap off a flawless campaign.

Nationwide Nadi Army went through the two-day tournament unbeaten, conceding only two tries across their pool matches and the final which was a testament to their defensive discipline and structure.

Head coach Napolioni Naulia praised the players for executing their game plan and maintaining consistency throughout the competition.

“I thank the boys for holding on to what they learnt during training and for their great execution on the field,” Naulia said.

“The boys were so consistent from their first pool match right through to the final, and I applaud them for maintaining their discipline.”

Naulia also acknowledged the collective support behind the team’s success, attributing their achievement to God, family, and sponsors.

“Big thanks to Nationwide Sydney Nadi and JAD International Travel, the players’ families, the Black Rock family in Nadi, the RFMF fraternity, and especially the boys for giving their best,” he said.

He also acknowledged the senior players in the squad, including Jone Samusamuvodre, captain Inia Tawalo and Alusio ‘Nitro’ Naduva for their leadership on the field.

The team will now turn its attention to the upcoming Nationwide Sydney 7s tour in October.
