TWO prominent drag racers have been appearing in TV ads, with their cars at a certain company’s bowsers.
Now, these cars, one yellow and one red, are not street legal cars.
I believe they are transported to the race tracks on lowbed trucks and even refuelled via gallons.
How, then, is it possible for them to drive to bowsers?
It’s an advertisement only, all right, but the message is not all right.
Fully-suited race drivers driving their drag race cars to the pump?
I believe the other company’s ad with aliens turning up at their service station is better because there are no aliens and if there are, they don’t fill up on our planet. So it’s more humorous than anything and their air gauges too work most of the time.
Our planet’s race cars do fill up here, but they don’t drive on the public road to the pump.
I have not been hibernating, and I don’t remember a change in the law regarding drag race cars.
I have been to some events last year and I have seen LTA officers at the venue almost always, checking on the cars and then waiting some distance away, ready to catch a few of the street-illegal ones being driven on the road.
I mean those which are supposed to be on lowbeds.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
But at least please don’t show the yellow and red cars at the pump on TV.
Obviously, some just didn’t understand the above, but most are nodding at the logic.
