FORMER Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua women’s coach Senirusi Seruvakula is urging the current team to know that nothing is impossible in a Super Rugby W final.

Seruvakula coached the team, formerly known as Fijiana Drua in their inaugural season, in which they took Super W by storm-unbeaten from the first round until the final.

Inoke Male took over his reigns last year and now the responsibility falls on coach Mosese Rauluni and his squad to continue the legacy set since 2022.

Seruvakula, often regarded as the ‘no nonsense coach’, had a few words of advice for the Drua W as they embark on their third consecutive final today.

“To play as a team, with discipline and lastly to believe impossible is nothing,” he said.

The Wainibuka warrior is glad that the vision he had for women’s rugby is now being widely shared and recognised.

“It’s unbelievable the growth of women’s rugby after we won our first Super W and it changed the way women are looked at in rugby.

“Now they are contracted with some playing overseas and also it motivated young girls to follow the footsteps and pathway of those girls that won the title twice.

“I’m blessed to coach the Drua women team in our first Super W, my purpose to change how women are looked at in rugby and I thank God that I manage to achieve that with style,” Seruvakula added.

The Fijian Drua women battle tournament favourite, Waratahs at 4pm at Ballymore Stadium in Brisbane, Australia today.
