The Asco Foundation is studying programs through which it can support the government’s and other non-profit partner organisations’ efforts in assisting those affected by this pandemic.

In a market announcement yesterday, the foundation, which is the charitable arm of Toyota Tsusho (South Sea) Ltd (TTS), said it gave $30,000 to support the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji (SPFF).

TTS and Asco Foundation chairman Masahiro Kuwahara said the initiative would provide much-needed relief to the Fijian families in dire need.

This collaborative effort with SPFF provided 500 families with much-needed food ration during these difficult times.

Meanwhile Asco Motors chief executive officer/director and Asco Foundation Trustee, Craig Sims said helping to assist families in the West was a priority as many of them had been affected first by the closure of the tourism industry and now with the current pandemic lockdowns.

Mr Sims said the Asco Foundation wanted to reach out and assist as many families as they could and chose to work with the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji because of their impressive record of reaching out to all communities in Fiji.
