Soccer has done a lot for Usaia Tadu.
The Rewa defender will feature in his 23rd Battle of the Giants tournament and the sport has enabled him to build a modest home for his family.
Today, as the country is gripped with a downturn in economic activity caused by COVID-19, soccer has provided the only means of survival for his wife and son.
“I am lucky because many people have lost jobs, but because of soccer I can put food on the table for my family,” the 41-year-old Naitasiri native said.
“I believe I made it this far through the grace of God and when God decides it’s time for me to hang up my boots, I will.”
