The first of a monthly program to bring back local tourists began today at the Shangri La Fijian Resort in Sigatoka.

The two day Beach, Beats and Eats event boasts local artists and in-house band Inside Out Fiji, Sassy and renowned dance group VOU.

Resort general manager Francis Yee said the event was part of the resort’s efforts to join local properties in promoting local tourism.

“This program came around because we need to make something happen for Fiji,” he said.

“And with conjunction with our Love our Locals campaign, we brought together local artists in the entertainment industry and of course showcase our cuisine from our F&B (Food and Beverage) staff.

“This showcases our local Fijian talents to our guests including our domestic friends and also our international friends.

“This is important as it kicks things off for us which is also a little different from all of our other properties.”
