FIJI’S Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has announced the 2018/2019 National Budget. Below is the breakdown of allocations to the respective ministries.

The cost of running Government:

Ministry of Infrastructure – $165.2m, increase of $31.1m

Ministry of Waterways and Environment – $69.9m, increase

Ministry of Agriculture – $96.8m, increase of $10.5m

Ministry of Fisheries – $20.5m, increase of $1.7m

Ministry of Forests – $17.1m, increase of $1.0m

Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources – $37.5m, increase of $2.4m

Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism – $99.3m, decrease of $6.1m

Ministry of Sugar Industry – $62.3m, decrease of $18.6m

Ministry of Public Enterprises – $15.8m, decrease of $2.0m

Ministry of Local Government – $30.1m, decrease of $2m

Ministry of Economy – $120.4m, increase of $3.2m

Ministry of iTaukei Affairs – $15.8m, increase of $2.6m

Ministry of Defence and National Security – $6.3m, increase of $1.0m

Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations – $16.7m, increase of $200,000

Ministry of Foreign Affairs – $47.0m, increase of $3.1m,

Ministry of Disaster Management and Meterological Services – $15.5m, increase of $1.8m

Ministry of Justice – $8.1m, increase of $165,900

Ministry of Communications – $65m, increase of $3m

Ministry of Civil Service – $52m, decrease of $17m

Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development – $21.7m, increase of $4.9m

Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts – $535.4m, increase of $60.8m

Ministry of Health and Medical Services – $335.0, increase of $13.9m

Ministry of Housing and Community Development – $41.4m, increase of $17.2m

Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation – $133.0m, increase of $19.8m

Ministry of Youth and Sports – $24.1m, increase of $1.4m

Fiji Roads Authority – $563.1m, increase of $85.5m
