PREPARATIONS for next month’s Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week are going well, says Fiji Fashion Week.

More than 70 models will take the stage at this year’s show that will be held from May 20 to May 25.

“We have about 20 models here who are new models. Most of them are doing this for the first time and they have improved from the first time we had rehearsals. We have asked them to search for techniques they could find on Google and watch shows just to help them improve on their walks before the show,” FJFW stated.

According to FJFW, one of the main traits they were looking for in a model was someone who can market the clothes they wear for each designer and also build the models’ self confidence.

“This is what the show is all about for us, to build a platform for designers who are wanting to show their skills and talents.” FJFW has also assured the public to expect something different at this year’s show.

“We have a 10 metre wide runway this year which has about three lanes that is what we have been practising today (yesterday) so it’s a different show altogether because last year we had seven lanes this year it’s three lanes.”
