FHL appoints Karan as deputy chairman

PERMANENT Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister Yogesh Karan has been appointed the deputy chairman of Fiji Holdings Limited.

Mr Karan was appointed Thursday, March 21, 2019, as a director representing class ‘A’ shareholders.

According to the market announcement by the South Pacific Stock Exchange, Mr Karan had vacated his seat on November 21, 2017, and became director representing class ‘B’ shareholders through the appointment of the Minister of iTaukei Affairs.

The FHL stated that Mr Karan had served on many boards and government ministries.

The FHL Board welcomed Mr Karan saying he had years of experience in corporate board and governance.

At the FHL annual general meeting in November 2018, FHL had adopted a new Articles of Association, following which Class and Class B shares were merged and all shares had become ordinary shares of the company.

The FHL Board consist of chairman Adrian Sofield, Mr Karan as deputy chairman, and members Litiana Loabuka, Kalpana Lal, Sakiusa Raivoce, Tony Whitton, Ratu Aisea Waka Vosailagi, Sanjit Patel and Bob Lyon.
