THE Japanese Embassy will welcome a C-2 transport aircraft from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force early next month.

In a statement, the embassy stated the aircraft would touch down in Fiji on its way from Australia to Japan.

The aircraft is participating in the 2019 Australian International Airshow and Defense and Aerospace Exposition in Australia.

The C-2 is a mid-size, twin-turbofan engine, long range, high-speed military transport aircraft developed and manufactured by Kawasaki Aerospace Company.

The USD$136million C-2 formally entered service with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in June, 2016.
