IT was Christmas cheer all around for villagers of Votua and guests and staff members of Naviti Resort as they marked the annual lighting of their Christmas tree on Thursday night.
The upscale resort which sits on a beachfront property at Coral Coast had palm trees lit up in a myriad of lights as guests and visitors sat back to enjoy the sunset. Naviti Resort general manager, Tim Bathke said the occasion was a chance to kick off the Christmas season in an official way and mark the great year.
“2018 has been a very good year for Naviti Resort. Our guests have been very happy and we’ve had a chance to do things for the community which for us is important,” he said.
Regular visitor, Nadine Gatt said the resort had a special place in her heart and she will continue to visit every year.
“My family has been coming to Fiji for 16 years. My children were both ten and seven years old when we first brought them in 2002 and till today, they’ve always accompanied my husband and I.
“We love Fiji, the people and the culture and the staff at Naviti are our family and every year we come down to villages with donations. The smile of the children and how their eyes light always warms my heart. I appreciate the Fijians for their hard work that’s why we want to give back whenever we can. We don’t have a lot of money but we have a lot of love,” she added.
