TAVUA created the biggest upset after beating Nadi 2-1 in the opening match of the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori yesterday. Striker Vilitati Kautoga broke the hearts of the Nadi fans after he scored the winning goal midway in the second half. Tavua came determined in the match and their hard work was rewarded in the 8th minute when Vilive Naulalevu scored for Tavua before Napolioni Qasevakatini levelled scores 1-all in the 35th minute. Tavua coach Saroj Kumar said the team’s fitness was the contributing factor behind their win. “The players played their hearts out but there is a lot of work that is still needed to be done,” Kumar said. “We did not have any training sessions apart from Sundays and I know the heat over here is bearable than in Tavua. “The players played according to the game plan and fought hard whenever Nadi had possessions.” Tavua goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi made some good saves as Nadi’s Qasevakatini, Rusiate Matarerega and William Valentine attacked the Tavua goalmouth.
