THE Suva football team is bracing for a tough challenge against Vodafone Lautoka Blues on Friday in the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori. Team manager Mohammed Zahid Erfan said the team stood a good chance in the tournament.
He said Lautoka players had been boosted by their experience from the past two weekends of playing in the OFC Champions League finals against Wellington FC from New Zealand. “We have been training for two weeks and the players have blended well.
They are also confident,” he said.
“We are grateful to national coach Christophe Gamel for helping us and assist the boys spice up some of their skills. “Training has been intense for the past days as we try to move up our tempo. “We have been focusing on our fitness and individual skills.”
Erfan said majority of the players were former Rewa reps.
“These players have done the hard yards and they are ready to deliver.”
