Lau tribes initiate fund drive to grow company

THE five yavusa (tribe) from the tikina (district) of Totoya in the Lau group gathered for a fund drive to help raise funds for the Totoya Holdings Limited at the Furnival Park in Toorak, Suva, today.

Company board secretary Jolame Uludole said the whole purpose of the inaugural event was to enable the different yavusa buy shares into the company.

“What they are going to raise is going to go towards their share to increase the share capital of the company,” Mr Uludole said.

He said the fund drive that commenced today would conclude tomorrow.

The five villages and their yavusa include Tovu Village – Yavusa Narocake, Ketei Village – Yavusa Navueruarua, Dravuwalu Village – Yavusa Nakorowaiwai, Udu Village – Yavusa Muaicakolau and Vanuavatu Village – Yavusa Nauluvatu.
