FIJI’S Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre for the continuation of the Domestic Violence Helpline.

Ministry of Women permanent secretary Dr Josefa Koroivueta said under the MOU, the ministry had provided a $200,000 funding for the Domestic Violence Helpline, which was being managed by the FWCC.

Dr Koroivueta said the funding would allow FWCC with administration, publication and campaigning of the helpline to raise awareness in communities.

He said through the funding, the FWCC would also be able to provide counselling and referral services in cases of domestic violence.
