THE celebrations for the Veiuto Primary School Fun Day is a way for the school to help raise funds in order to improve the school’s current infrastructure.
In an interview today the head teacher Semi Tauyavuca said he was very thankful for the parents for being cooperative towards the fun day.
“From yesterday we have collected $45,000 and that is continuing today again. The parents have been very cooperative and I am thankful for their support,” Mr Tauyavuca said.
He said with the school roll of more than one thousand students he hoped this would be able to assist the school in improving its infrastructure.
“Our school is quite challenged in many ways, there’s quite a lot of infrastructure redress that needs to be done and hopefully this money that we’re collecting will be used to cater for that need,” he said.
The school is currently hosting the fund day at their school grounds with each house Red, Green , Gold and Blue carrying out their own fundraising.
The head teachers is also requesting for all parents to come attend their Annual General Meeting which will be held on August 6.
“We having our AGM on Monday at 5:30 pm and I am requesting for all parents who are available to please come , we need sit down and discuss where we want to go too from here.” he said.
