DESPITE a difficult start in the heats yesterday, the 4×400 cubs of Suva Grammar School came out on top to grab gold in the 4x400m relay.
The team came in with the slowest time after a fall to third runner Victor Kalouniviti yesterday. Kalouniviti got up and ran again to help their fourth runner get a strong enough time for the finals today.
While Kalouniviti went on to win SGS’s first medal, a bronze in the sub junior boys high jump, he was rested today.
Led today by George Simpson, the lions edged out a faster Queen Victoria School and Ratu Kadavulevu School who took silver and bronze respectively.
