A GOLDEN opportunity awaits five local rugby league players at the 2026 Fiji National Women’s Rugby League Premiership, offering them a chance to sharpen their skills at the NRLW program next month and potentially secure a contract with an NRLW team.

Fiji Bulikula head coach Joe Rabele confirmed this exciting prospect yesterday during the opening round of the Eastern Division pool games.

“We’ve selected a few players in the west and the east and we’ve done a few fitness tests yesterday,” Rabele explained.

“So today we’re just watching them play so we can make our final selection for the five to go to Australia next month and have a training camp at the NRLW.”

He added that the training and experience gained at the NRLW camp will provide an ideal foundation for five players at the upcoming World Cup.

For those who impress during the camp, there is a real chance to pursue their rugby league career on Australian soil.

“For the players that standout during the training camp they will be signed by an NRLW club,” Rablele said.

With this pathway opening, the future looks bright for Fiji’s women’s rugby league stars, who now have a clear route to the highest levels of the sport.

The premiership is shaping up to be a pivotal moment in their journey.
