RB Patel Group Ltd is expanding its property portfolio with a $25 million seven-storey apartment complex in Suva, as the company strengthens its investment beyond its established retail and wholesale businesses.

In a statement, the company said the development at Lot 1, 25 Knolly St was expected to take about 15 months to complete, with construction to be undertaken by Chinese company Global Construct Pte Ltd in its first project in Fiji.

The project is part of the Group’s broader property investment strategy, with its total property portfolio valued at more than $80 million as of June 30, 2026.

According to the company, the Knolly St development will run alongside a $20 million commercial complex under construction at Wailevu, Macuata, on a 10-acre iTaukei Land Trust Board-leased site.

That project, being built by Four R Electrical and General Contractors Pte Ltd, is expected to be completed by June 2027.

RB Patel Group said their existing property portfolio included JetPoint complex in Martintar, Nadi, HarbourPoint Complex in Lami, a convention centre and additional retail space in Lami, and residential apartments in Clarke Street, Suva.

The Clarke St development was reported in 2016 as an eight-apartment project valued at more than $4 million.

The company said they also had future development plans involving 20 acres of vacant land in Ba, eight acres of freehold land in Nadawa, five acres of freehold land in Pacific Harbour and a residential site on Reservoir Rd in Suva.

Through its property investments, the Group aims to support economic activity, provide spaces for businesses and services, and strengthen its diversified asset base.

The company operates a nationwide supermarket network and has interests in importing, exporting, wholesale distribution, property development and management.

The Knolly St project marks another significant investment in Suva’s property sector, while the simultaneous development in Macuata reflected the Group’s continued expansion into commercial property outside the capital.
