The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) is calling on the leaders of FijiFirst and The People’s Alliance to come forward instead of sending their people.

SODELPA general secretary Lenaitasi Duru said so far the two parties have only been sending their people for negotiations.

“Well, it’d be good if they can come forward and discuss things with them instead of sending in their people,” Mr Duru said outside the SODELPA headquarters in Suva.

“We’d appreciate if they can come forward and talk with us.”

He said the non-negotiables for the party were policies relating to indigenous rights, education “and other issues that the committee is working on at this very moment”.

“We’ve been having a discussion regarding the possibility of SODELPA holding the balance of power.

“So all I can say right now is that we are having meetings that we have to take into discussions.

“They’ve come up with some of the offerings that they have, we’re discussing them at the moment.”
