‘Beat me’, writes Marica Likulawedua from Scotland yesterday.

She is among the long standing record holders of the Fiji Finals, now known as the Coca-Cola Games.

The former Fiji athletics rep holds the intermediate girls long jump record of 5.72 metres.

She set the record in 1994 as a Dudley High School athlete at the national stadium in Suva, now called HFC Bank Stadium.

“Just want to say good luck to all athletes in the Coca-Cola Games this week,” Likulawedua said.

“Beat my record and break many records in this three-day competition. I set that record in 1994 during April. This year will be the 28th year.

“To all athletes, do your best to win a medal. If you set your mind in anything and believe in yourself, you can achieve anything.

“Hard work pays off, humble yourself and be a good listener to your coaches.

“May the best school wins.”
