FEW presiding officers in the Northern Division were reluctant to give out information regarding the number of registered voters at their respective stations during the day because they required a written permission from the Fijian Elections Office in Suva.

This was the case at a few polling stations and venues visited by this newspaper in the Northern Division.

Presiding officers at some polling stations in Labasa and Seaqaqa, and most in Taveuni, were told that media personnel needed to produce written letters of authorisation from the Supervisor of Elections in order to get access to those information.

Mr Saneem said via a press conference in Suva this afternoon that presiding officers could not talk and any issues affecting voters were to be noted down and sent to the FEO communication team.
