THE Government mobilised about $142million for climate-related projects in 2025 through partnerships, proposals, and development financing, Environment Minister Lynda Tabuya says.

Ms Tabuya said the funding was secured through development partners and international cooperation.

“The investments are spread across different ministries, depending on project types and implementation arrangements,” she said.

Ms Tabuya said her ministry plays a technical and coordinating role in securing funding, while other ministries handle implementation.

“For example, if we secure climate finance for renewable energy projects such as solar energy, our ministry facilitates the funding process.

“However, the implementation is carried out by the Department of Energy under the relevant ministry.”

She said climate-related funding aimed to support communities affected by flooding, drought, and infrastructure challenges.

“The focus is on ensuring projects are properly delivered through the relevant government agencies.”

She added that continued engagement with development partners is essential to sustain national development efforts.
