AN intriguing clash between Zulfikar Zeeran Ali and Binnu Singh Junior is shaping up as one of the highlights of Blue Water Boxing Promotion’s show on October 23.
Promoter Sameer Khan believes fans are in for a great contest, with both fighters putting in the hard work ahead of the event.
Khan said Binnu Singh Junior might not be a familiar name to all boxing fans in Fiji but warned that the fighter had already demonstrated his ability against experienced opponents.
He said Binnu Junior had faced talented boxers in exhibition bouts and had stopped some of them in the opening round.
“Definitely, the Sigatoka fans, they know about Binnu Singh Junior,” Khan said.
Khan acknowledged that some fans remained unfamiliar with the boxer but described him as a strong fighter who could provide a stern test for Zulfikar.
The bout is expected to attract attention, particularly with Zulfikar regarded as one of the country’s promising young fighters. Khan said Zulfikar, the son of the “upcoming golden boy”, was also training hard for the contest and would be ready to put on a strong performance.
“Definitely, it will be a great fight for the night,” he said. The October 23 programme is expected to feature several bouts, with Khan saying preparations were progressing well and boxers were training hard.
Tickets are already available, with grandstand tickets priced between $15 and $20, while corporate tables will also be available for businesses and supporters wanting a premium experience.
Khan said the affordable ticket prices were aimed at encouraging fans to attend and support the fighters.
He also reminded the boxers to remain disciplined, stay fit and give fans an entertaining performance.
