Xavier College successfully defended their title at the Coca-Cola Ba Zone Athletics meet held at Churchill Park yesterday.
The two-day athletics meet, filled with fun, laughter, and the vibrant colours of nine secondary schools in Ba, concluded with Xavier College emerging victorious in both the girls and boys divisions.
In the boys division, Xavier clinched the top spot with an impressive tally of 23 gold, 20 silver, and 15 bronze medals.
AD Patel College secured the second position with eight gold, 10 silver, and 13 bronze medals, while Ba Methodist High School secured the third position with six gold, nine silver, and four bronze medals.
Xavier also secured top position in the girl’s division with nine gold,11 silver and 11 bronze medals, Ba Sanatan College in second place with nine gold, nine silver and nine bronze medals and DAV College finished in third place with seven gold, eight silver and five bronze medals.
Kamil Muslim College senior boy sprinter Sahil Abdul won the blue ribbon event with a time of 11.34sec and won gold in the 200m final with a time of 22.94sec.
Ba Zone president Hussain Shah commended the impressive performances of the nine schools despite facing challenging weather conditions last week.
“Despite the bad weather we were facing last week the nine schools faced a tough preparation, but they managed to show competitive performances during the two days event.
“I’m sure these nine schools will do well in the Coca-Cola Games,” Shah said.
